Da Last Word (DLW) podcast with host, Rusty Byrd, welcomes Bethel High School (BHS) Head Football Coach David Porter. In this episode, Rusty and Coach Porter discuss the 2026 Bethel Bruins football team. Thus far, the Bruins are 2-0 and have out scored their opponents 97-0. Coach Porter talks about how the Bruins, during his 5-year tenure, have developed from a football team into a football program. Last season, the Bruins made the playoffs and got their first playoff win since 2008. However, that team was lead by a senior quarterback and running back, who each accounted for more than 2,000 yards last season. Despite their early success, the Bruins have maintained their focus and plan to take each game one week at a time. Da Last Word (DLW) sports podcast with host, Rusty Byrd and guest co-host, Jay Gholson, of the Facebook Group "The (REAL) PWC Sports Page welcome three of the Battlefield High School baseball stars to discuss the school's historic season. Those three stars are 11th graders Yogi Colangelo, Nico Moritz, and Teagan Leach. The Battlefield Bobcats won the VHSL Class 6 State Championship baseball game against Cedar Run District foe Independence High School. Independence had previously beaten Battlefield two times during in the regular season and once in the Regional Championship game. In storybook fashion, the Bobcats got a top of the 7th inning grand slam home run from Luke Raflo to help them win the VHSL Class 6 State Championship baseball game by a final score of 6-3. In addition to talking about the 2026 season, we discuss their two previous heartbreaking seasons with Battlefield along with how these three committed to play college baseball for the VA Tech Hokies in the 8th grade. We also talk about their lives away from the diamond on topics such as their favorite baseball movies; super-heroes, and much, much more. You do not want to miss this episode! Da Last Word (DLW) podcast with host, Rusty Byrd, welcomes key members of the minor league basketball team, the Park City Dreamers, of the East Coast Basketball League (ECBL). The team is based out of Manassas Park/Prince William County and plays their home basketball games at Potomac High School in Dumfries, VA. The show was blessed to have Owner/CEO, Jeremy Coleman, Head Coach Bryan Carroll, and Team Captain Emmanuel "Manny" Miller on to discuss all thing Dreamers. In only their second year of existence, the Park City Dreamers are on the verge of making the ECBL playoffs for the first time. In addition to winning basketball games, the Dreamers are a dedicated team of innovators, mentors, and local advocates united by a single mission: to turn local potential into lasting impact. The leadership team brings together diverse expertise and a shared passion for the Park City community, ensuring that every dreamer has the resources, guidance, and support needed to reach their peak. As an organization, they don't just envision a brighter future - they are building it, one connection at time. In this episode, Rusty discusses how the players are selected, practice, and developed.
